Hillsborough County Fire Rescue found four deceased adults in a burning home in Plant City. Shawn Gossett was charged with four counts of murder in the first degree while engaged in arson. Thanks to Florida Senator Danny Burgess, and Florida Representative Lawrence McClure, the state of Florida gave a $2 million grant for the completion of the new United Food Bank of Plant City facility on Alsobrook St. The new South Florida Baptist Hospital facility opened at 3202 N. Park Road. At the same time, the 70-year-old hospital on N. Alexander Street in Plant City permanently closed. The City Commission joined City staff, the City attorney, and residents in debating an amendment to zoning regulations for off-street parking, circulation, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities requirements. The changes connect to several things, but the major point of discussion was the amendment would add parking requirements for new development. The Commissioners voted for a continuation to give time for City Planning and Zoning to look for additional options and hear further input from citizens,
