First Baptist Church of Plant City broke ground for its Phase 2 addition. The new construction will add a two-story, 36,000-square-foot building to help the church serve its congregation—which has grown by 15 percent since 2023. The Arts Council of Plant City unveiled 10 bronze sculptures from J. Seward Johnson’s Celebrating the Familiar collection. The works were placed in optimal locations in Plant City to enhance the artistic vibe they communicate. The exhibition provides a sculptural commentary on daily life, presenting hyper-realistic bronzes that act as a mirror for the viewer. The art calls attention to “the beautiful moments of ordinary life.” Plant City High School quarterback, Chris Denson, signed a commitment letter to play football at Clemson University. In his senior season, the 6’3” 190-pound Denson passed for 2,334 yards and 28 touchdowns and ran for 1,159 yards and 12 touchdowns.
