Seventy-eight employees at the Leggett & Platt production facility in Plant City were given notice their jobs were being terminated because the company is shutting down its operations on the corner of South County Line Road and Fancy Farms Road. The City of Plant City finalized its budget for next year. The 2023-2024 budget was $108,779,353. The new number for 2024-2025 is $125,925,917—an increase of $17,146,564, or 15.8%.
