How long have you been playing flag football?
I have been playing flag since I was in 5th grade.
What’s your favorite thing about flag football?
My favorite thing about flag is being able to showcase my team’s ability alongside some of my best friends.
Do you have a favorite flag football memory?
I would have to say my favorite flag football memory is the Wharton game we played my freshman year. It was such a fun game to play in and we won so just the cherry on top.
What’s your favorite thing about playing for Coach Johnson?
My favorite thing about playing for Coach is that no matter what is happening in the game, it’s always positive affirmations. He’s never been mad at me for anything I’ve done on the offensive side of the ball. He’s truly the best coach.
What’s an area in flag football that you want to improve in?
I would love to improve on defense and get some more defensive looks of the field.
Has playing flag football taught you any life lessons? If so, what are they?
I would say that flag has taught me that everything you do, you need to do it together with people. Working together towards a goal is so much more beneficial than working individually.
Is there a rule in flag football that you would change if allowed? If so, what is it?
I would change the rule that rushers can’t move and block.
What advice would you give to someone that wants to try out for the team next year?
My advice is that if you are going to try out do not be scared to play. Play that position and make that mistake. The game truly is just for fun and do not be scared to do anything. Be the most versatile player out there.
When you’re not playing flag football, what are you doing in your free time?
I would say when I’m not doing flag I’m out with my friends or doing homework.
What’s your favorite song to listen to, to get you hyped for a game?
My favorite song to listen to before a game is Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield. The song really gets you hype before a game.
