Hunter Johnson, a 13-year-old 8th grader at Turkey Creek Middle School, plays baseball for the Florida Burn-Lions.

What position do you play in baseball?

My primary position is catcher, but I’m a utility player and play wherever the coaches need me.

Do you have a favorite all-time sports memory?

Hitting my 1st homerun in Cooperstown, that was fun.

Is there a sport that you haven’t played yet that you eventually want to play and why?

Track, I’ve got some speed but it would help me get faster and I love running.

If you’re not playing sports, what are you doing in your free time?

Fishing, hanging out with family and friends, and going to church.

What’s the hardest thing about playing baseball?

It’s a game of failure, you just remind yourself that every day, but that’s also the fun part, the challenge.

How important is it to be a supportive teammate to your squad?

It’s everything, especially at catcher, you need to be the coach on the field.

Do you have a favorite player currently in the MLB? If so, who?

Yes, JT Realmuto

What’s something in baseball that you want to continue improving?

Honestly everything, I know how hard this game is and I want to play HS AND college baseball.

Do you prefer playing baseball games in the morning, afternoon, or evening and why?

Mornings, It’s cooler outside.

What are your go-to songs to get you hyped and ready for game day?

I don’t have one song really but I have a Christian hype mix I listen to that’s good.
