Emmanuel Lee

Durant High School senior Emmanuel Lee is a running back for the Cougars varsity football team and is coming off a huge game against Bartow, where he ran wild for 264 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns.

How long have you been playing football?

I played 2 years in high school and 1 year in little league.

How does it feel coming off such a big game against Bartow?

It feels good being the district champions and knowing I had a role in the win.

In your opinion, would you say that was the best game of your football career?

I would say either this game or last year when I played Riverview.

How important is the bye week this late in the season?

It will give us some time to rest up before the playoffs.

How’s the team feeling with one regular season game before the playoffs?

We feel good. They are a big city rival and will give us momentum going into the playoffs when we win.

If you’re not playing football, what else are you doing in your free time?

I like to fish, play the game, and I play basketball.

What’s your favorite career play?

I would say the 79 rush against Sickles or 87 yard rush against Newsome.

If you could give advice to a kid who wants to play running back, what advice would you give them?

I would say keep your team’s spirit up. You rely on them and they rely on you.

What’s a lesson football has taught you that you can apply to your everyday life?

it’s taught me to control my emotions.

What’s your favorite song to get you hyped for game day?
