Hayden Nichols
Hayden is an 11-year-old, who will be going to Tomlin this upcoming school year. He’s a baseball all-star and his team just won District 4. They will play for the sectional title at Delaney Park on July 5 and 6.
1. What position do you play in baseball?
I play shortstop and pitcher. I also play 3rd base.
2. Do you have a favorite all time sport memory?
My favorite sport memory is hitting it over the fence when Coach Ricky was pitching to me.
3. Is there a sport that you haven’t played yet that you eventually wanna play and why?
I don’t want to play any other sport than baseball.
4. If you’re not playing sports, what are you doing in your free time?
In my free time I like to play wiffle ball and brawl stars with my friends. I also like to ride my go cart & dirt bike with my brother.
5. What’s the hardest thing about playing baseball?
The hardest thing about baseball is hitting off different speeds.
6. How important is it to be a supportive teammate to your squad?
Being supportive is really important. We are all brothers and we have to pump eachother up especially when they are upset about bad plays or strikeouts.
7. Do you have a favorite player currently in the MLB? If so, who?
I have several favorite MLB players..Shohei Ohtani because he’s a great pitcher and one of the homerun leaders, Jackie Robinson because he was fast like me, & Randy Arozarena because he’s on my favorite team, the Tampa Bay Rays, and he’s a great hitter & outfielder.
8. What’s something in baseball that you wanna continue improving at?
I want to continue to improve at pitching. I’m working on my speed and different pitches. My favorite pitch currently is the circle change up.
9. Do you prefer playing baseball games in the morning, afternoon or evenings and why?
I prefer to play baseball games in the evening because it’s easier to see and the heat isn’t as bad.
10. Whats your go-to songs to get you hyped and ready for game day?
I like to listen to We’re not gonna take it by Twisted Sisters & I believe that we will win by Pit Bull.
