You’ve gotten off to a good start this season. How do you feel about the way things are going for the Chargers right now?
I feel like our team is very strong right now and we look good. We’re glad to get a good start to the season.
What would you say makes this team so good?
I think we’re good because we like each other and we have a bond that’s inseparable on and off the field.
What do you hope to accomplish this season and what do you hope the team as a whole can do?
For myself, I hope to step up and be able to be a leader on the field. As a team, we just want to keep getting stronger and keep winning.
How long have you been playing soccer?
I’ve been playing soccer for about 10 years. My cousin Jenny, she played and I looked up to her, so I started playing.
What made you want to stick with it all these years?
When I was 9 I realized that I was going to stop dance and play soccer full-time.
Is there a sport you’ve never tried before but would if you could?
Yeah, softball looks fun, but soccer is where my heart is.
What’s your favorite subject in school?
I do love English because I can express myself and it’s fun. I have a really good teacher. My favorite is creative writing. I like being able to write about whatever I want. My dad’s a writer… he helps inspire me to do that.
Are you hoping to become a writer in the future?
In college, I want to be something medical, like in the medical field. I’m not too sure yet, though.
What’s the best advice a coach has given you?
I have a lot of coaches that I look up to, and they tell me just to never get down on myself and not let one mistake get in my head. Have a positive attitude.
