Hillsborough County Special Olympics began its softball season Saturday morning, and the Plant City teams — the Raiders and Titans — played a doubleheader. The Titans came out on top, 13-9 and 16-4, and second baseman Tristan Snapp was a big part of their offense.
What do you like about playing second base?
It’s pretty fun.
What’s your favorite thing about playing softball?
Batting. I hit pretty well.
You’ve been playing with the Titans for two years. What are you looking forward to this season?
We’re going to play some great games this season, and we are so excited to play this year.
What’s your favorite position?
I like outfield.
What’s your favorite major league team?
I like the Rays. My favorite player is No. 3, Evan Longoria.
How long have you been playing softball for, besides Plant City?
Five years. I wanted to play because I was so excited.
What other sports do you play?
Basketball. I’m doing good with that, and I have fun — just like I always do. Basketball has been my favorite sport since I was growing up.
Why basketball over baseball?
Because it’s more fun. It’s one of my favorite sports to play. I’ve played since I was five. Now, I’m 17.
What’s the best part of your game?
Defense.
Who’s your favorite athlete, in any sport?
I like Carmelo Anthony.
What else do you like to do for fun?
I love doing music. I’m a songwriter. I play all different instruments at home. It’s fun, and I love doing it.
What’s your favorite song that you’ve ever written?
It’s called “Special Day.”
Is it played on guitar, keyboard or which instrument?
It can be played on anything. I play guitar, drums and bass.
What’s your favorite TV show?
I like “My Babysitter is a Vampire.”
Favorite movie?
“Teen Beach Movie.”
Favorite video games?
Indiana Jones, basketball and Madden football. My favorite is Madden. I like to use the Bucs.
What’s your favorite food?
Cheeseburgers. I like Burger King’s Whoppers.
If you could play basketball, your favorite sport, for any team, what would it be?
I would say Team USA. I would play shooting guard.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I would want to teleport. I could go from one place to another. I would want to go to the (New Orleans) Saints’ stadium and watch a game.
