August 2020 real estate transactions

Last month, 98 properties sold with an average sale price of $139.77 per square foot. That represents both a 26 percent increase in units sold (vs. 78) and a 6.5 percent increase in price per square foot (vs. $131.20) from that of August 2019.

Mitchell Crawford, of the Crawford Group, said the real estate companies still need an infusion of home inventory for sale or else the market may slow down.

“As the market continues to inch forward, I would expect the average price per square foot to level off in the coming months,” Crawford said. “The mortgage rates will continue to stay in the low threes for several more months, maybe through the end of the year. The area real estate companies need inventory.”
