An 87-year-old Lithia woman died this morning from injuries she sustained in a car crash at State Road 39 and Holloway Road, in Plant City.
According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, at about 9:05 a.m. Nov. 1, Mary Conrad Lane was traveling east on Holloway Road in a 2010 Buick Lucerne. At that time, Thomas Cross Hoopes, 32, of Tampa, was traveling in a 2001 Nissan Frontier south on State Road 39, approaching Holloway Road. Lane drove into the intersection, and Hoopes collided with the left side of her vehicle.

Hoopes’ vehicle rotated clockwise and came to final rest south of the area of the collision. Lane’s vehicle rotated counter-clockwise and came to final rest in the paved median. Lane died at the scene.
