According to arrest records, Lisa Shirah, 34, was arrested Sept. 7, and faces 16 charges — including fraud, forgery and grand theft.
School officials said Shirah removed the money from the account through cashing multiple checks, beginning in February. The checks were processed at a bank in Lakeland. Arrest records indicate Shirah processed nine different checks, totaling $16,678.48.
Shirah was booked into the Polk County jail Sept. 7. Bond is set at $16,000.
