BayCare Health System and UnitedHealthcare have reached a new, five-year agreement.
Patients with UnitedHealthcare’s commercial insurance and Medicare Advantage plans once again have in-network access to BayCare’s hospitals, facilities, services and physicians. In addition, UnitedHealthcare members who received care at BayCare on or after Nov. 26, 2012, will be considered in-network.
UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans include AARP Medicare Complete, UnitedHealthcare Dual CompleteTM, UnitedHealthcare group retiree Medicare Advantage plans and UnitedHealthcare Nursing Home Plan.

Is my doctor back in-network with UnitedHealthcare?
Yes. BayCare physicians are back in-network with UnitedHealthcare, including HealthPoint Medical Group, Morton Plant Mease Immediate Care, Morton Plant Mease Primary Care, Morton Plant Mease Specialists, St. Anthony’s Primary Care, St. Anthony’s Specialists and Suncoast Medical Clinic.
Which UnitedHealthcare plans are included in the new contract?
All commercial plans are included as well as the following UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans: AARP MedicareComplete, UnitedHealthcare Dual Complete, UnitedHealthcare group retiree Medicare Advantage Plans and UnitedHealthcare Nursing Home Plan.
How will my out-of-pocket costs be calculated now that you are back in-network with UnitedHealthcare?
The new contract is effective for services provided on or after Nov. 26. Your cost will be calculated at your in-network benefit level.
Will I have to pay more money out-of-pocket if I receive care from my BayCare doctor now that you are back in-network with UnitedHealthcare?
No. As a result of the new contract with UnitedHealthcare, care from your BayCare physician(s) will now be covered as in-network.
I recently switched my insurance plan from UnitedHealthcare to another insurance provider. Does anything change concerning my access to BayCare Health System hospitals, facilities, services or physicians?
BayCare has long-standing relationships with other major insurance companies.
When does the new contract with UnitedHealthcare go into effect?
BayCare’s new contract with UnitedHealthcare is effective immediately and means you now have in-network access to BayCare hospitals, facilities, services and physicians.
What are the terms of the new contract?
The financial terms of the contract are confidential. The new agreement strikes the right balance between fair reimbursement and keeping health care affordable for our community.

Will I receive something in writing about the new contract?
BayCare sent a postcard to patients with UnitedHealthcare’s commercial or Medicare Advantage plans about the new contract. Patients also may receive a letter from their physician. If you do not receive either of these documents and would like something in writing, call (855) 251-7778.
I’m currently a patient with UnitedHealthcare insurance and receiving inpatient care at a BayCare hospital, will my care be covered since BayCare is back in-network?
Yes. If your service is covered under your benefit plan, your claim will be processed at the in-network benefit level.
What if I received care on or after Nov. 26 from a BayCare hospital, facility, service or physician? Will I be reimbursed if I paid out-of-network costs?
