A 22-year-old Plant City man died when his bicycle was struck by a pickup this morning.
According to Plant City Police Department reports, at about 11: 15 a.m. Aug. 13, Christopher Goddard was improperly crossing the southbound lanes of North Park Road on a bicycle, when he was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Earl Bennett, 67, of Lakeland.
The Plant City Police Department’s Traffic Management Unit responded. According to investigators, Goddard died at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained during the collision. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was not injured.
No charges will be filed in this investigation.
