An overnight crash in Lakeland killed one Plant City man.
According to Polk County Sheriff’s Office reports, Travis Kincade, 19, of Plant City, was a riding in a red 1998 Chevy pickup with a 12-inch lift kit; his mother, Brenda White, 37, was driving. The truck was traveling west on Swindell Road just south of Walker Road, and at about 10:30 p.m. June 25, White attempted a 90-degree turn at a high rate of speed. The truck began to spin and then rolled. Kincade was ejected; he was not wearing a seat belt. The truck then landed on top of him.
White was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Another passenger, Dustin Johnson, 19, of Mango, also was taken to the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
