The Florida Strawberry Festival announced today that Ronnie Milsap, the entertainer scheduled to perform at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, has been replaced with BJ Thomas.
“Still recovering from recent surgery, and under doctor’s supervision, Ronnie Milsap has not been cleared to travel and/or perform and must regretfully cancel his scheduled appearance at the Florida Strawberry Festival,” said a Milsap representative. “Ronnie sends his sincere apologies to all his fans at the Florida Strawberry Festival and hopes to be able to return to the festival in the future.”
The festival’s entertainment committee has confirmed BJ Thomas as the replacement entertainer for the 3:30 p.m. Feb. 28, show.
“We are saddened to learn that Ronnie Milsap won’t be able to join us,” said Florida Strawberry Festival General Manager Paul Davis. “But we believe BJ Thomas is a great fit for our festival and will connect well with our patrons.”
BJ Thomas has been entertaining for more than 50 years and is known for his hits, “Hooked on a Feeling,” “Rain Drops Keep Fallin’ On My Head,” “I Just Can’t Help Believing,” “Rock and Roll Lullaby” and more.
The festival will honor tickets already purchased to the Ronnie Milsap show for the BJ Thomas show or will refund the purchase in full prior to the show at the Amscot Main Ticket Office, 2209 W. Oak Ave., Plant City, or by calling the ticket office, (813) 754-1996.
Tickets to the BJ Thomas show can be purchased for $15 and $20 at flstrawberryfestival.com, over the phone or at the Amscot office.
