Burglars strike Dover-area sports complex

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office investigators are searching for suspect(s) who stole more than $6,700 worth of sports equipment and groceries from a Dover sports complex.

According to Sheriff’s Office reports, sometime between 9 p.m. Aug. 6, and 1 p.m. Aug. 7, unknown suspect(s) forced entry into three buildings within the William Owens Pass Sports Complex, at 1300 Sydney Dover Road, in Dover.

Suspect(s) cut through padlocks on the roll-down doors and entered the property. While inside, the suspect(s) removed more than $6,700 worth of sports equipment and groceries belonging to the Dover Youth Sports and Activities Organization. Items stolen included Nike cheer shoes, a laptop computer, Under Armour cleats and concession merchandise. The suspect(s) left the scene undetected.
