For one commuter, his day sparked when his 2008 Infiniti caught fire on May, 4.
The driver was headed home when he started to smell smoke. Soon, smoke started to billow from the hood and flames came through the dash. He pulled over on Griffin Boulevard in Walden Lake and alerted authorities at 8:39 p.m.
Plant City Fire Rescue arrived on scene at 8:46 p.m. It took about a minute for the firefighters to extinguish the fire.
“Car fires happen from time to time,” Battalion Chief Rick Sullivan said. “We don’t know what caused the actual fire.”
