Residents of Whispering Woods came out Saturday for Pardi Gras, a community event featuring food, fun and friends. The Plant City neighborhood, located off Alexander Street, has community events every quarter. The Pardi Gras event was a spin on Mardi Gras, with foods like gumbo and jambalaya.

Students at First Baptist Learning Center & Preschool celebrated Valentine’s Day with a plethora of sweet treats and lovely gifts. The children enjoyed classroom parties, complete with heart-shaped sandwiches and brownies, strawberries, punch and more.

Hundreds of men came out for the Plant City Elks Lodge #1727 Wild Game Cookout Saturday night at the Hillsborough County Cattleman’s Association building.

Regional bands, local dignitaries and even a group of cowboys on horseback were a part of Plant City’s annual Black Heritage Parade Saturday.
