Izbella Bronson, 2, of Plant City, died Wednesday, March 18, after falling out of her great-grandmother’s van.
At about 2:30 p.m., Alice Barber of Plant City, Izbella’s great-grandmother, was driving on the private dirt driveway of her residence on S.R. 60. She had just picked up Izbella’s two older brothers from the school bus stop at the end of the driveway.
Izbella was seated on the floor of the van with one of her brothers. The other brother chose not to ride in the vehicle, but ran ahead to the house.
The van door was left open. Barber drove slowly back to the house. Just before arriving at the house, Izbella fell out of the open van door and was run over by the van’s rear tire.
Izbella was flown to Tampa General Hospital, where she died shortly after arriving.
