A City of Plant City employee was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash involving a death, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Lorena Gonzalez, 31, was driving on State Road 39, north of Pattie Road, on Christmas Eve when Nicholas Panessidi, 76, walked into the path of her 1998 Jeep.
She fled to her Tampa home, where she was later arrested.
Alcohol is not a factor in the crash, according to the report.
Arrest records indicate Gonzalez works in the engineering department for the City of Plant City.
