City unveils new website

On July 23, the City of Plant City unveiled its new website.

According to IT Director Kent Andrel, the new website is user-friendly and will benefit both Plant City residents and visitors. Those who visit the website can take advantage of the Notify Me program, which allows the public to subscribe to the city’s news feed about ongoings in the city. The public can also report concerns and make online payments.

Resources are easier to access, as well. Visitors can quickly find the agenda and minutes from commission meetings and meeting notices in addition to important contact information and a list of calendar events.

The website will be regularly updated by each department. The information posted will automatically go to the city’s new Facebook and Twitter pages. Visitors can also check out the Frequently Asked Questions tab, where they can find information on permits and other regulations.

A mobile application will be launched on Sept. 1. The application will be free, and is available on both Android and Apple platforms. The website features a reactive design, allowing it to fit any size screen or page.
