The Plant City Garden Club will sponsor a series of six floral design classes beginning Oct. 5.
The hands-on series will cover topics such as the principle and elements of design. Each class covers a different topic by a certified Florida Federation of Garden Club Inc. instructor.
Cost for the series is $80. Classes take place from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 5, 12, and 19, and Nov. 2, 9 and 16.

The Plant City Woman’s Club will be holding its annual BBQ Chicken Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 17.

The Plant City Christmas Parade theme has been announced as “Celebrate the Season.”

The local dachshund adoption and rescue, Dare to Rescue, is hosting its eighth annual Dox-A-Palooza fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Sun-N-Fun Pavillion, 4175 Medulla Road, in Lakeland.
The event will feature food and drinks, calendars, apparel, costume contests for pets, raffles, silent and live auctions, carnival games, a mobile pet studio, agility course and more.

The Plant City Lions Club’s annual Golf Tournament will take place Friday, Oct. 4, at at Walden Lake Golf & Country Club, 2001 Clubhouse Drive, Plant City.
