An officer was conducting proactive foot patrol of a known homeless camp located near the train tracks. The officer located a subject on a blanket. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.
Not Your Bonus – Delayed Employee Theft
1700 block of S. Alexander St
Officers met with a representative of the business at the above location and learned over the last several months, the cash portion of the daily deposits had been re-routed and not deposited.
Scan Scam – Petit Theft
2600 block of James L Redman Pkwy
An officer met with loss prevention who advised a subject stole $95.46 worth of merchandise by either not scanning it or switching the label for a lower-priced item. The subject was found to be APAD eligible and upon completion of the paperwork, was released from the scene.
Scan Scammer Strikes Again – Petit Theft
2600 block of James L Redman Pkwy
An officer met with loss prevention who advised that a subject stole $161.94 worth of merchandise by not scanning items and bagging them as if they had been paid for. The subject was found to be APAD eligible and upon completion of the paperwork, was released from the scene. The subject was also trespassed from the location for one year due to this not being his first offense per the business’s internal database.
Take Care of Your Kids – Warrant Arrest
S. Alexander St and Plantation Blvd
An officer conducted a traffic stop on a subject on a bicycle with no lights visible after dark. The subject was found to have an HCSO arrest warrant for child support with a $1,000 purge. Once the warrant was confirmed, the subject was taken into custody and transported to Orient Road Jail.
January 4
You Can Run – Warrant Arrest
W. Ball St and Hunter St
An officer was conducting active patrol in the area and observed a subject known to have an active Hillsborough County arrest warrant for FTA petit theft. The warrant was confirmed, and the subject was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.
Blasted Vehicles – Resist Officer, Criminal Mischief, Damage City Vehicle
600 block of N. Maryland Ave
Officers responded to the above location in reference to a subject throwing objects and punching vehicles in the parking lot. Based on the investigation, the subject was charged with three counts of assault, two counts of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and resisting an officer. The subject was checked by PCFR and later transported to Orient Road Jail.
12 Bottles of Beer on the Wall – Shoplifting
1700 block of James L Redman Pkwy
Officers met with staff at the above location who stated a subject removed two 6 packs of Southern Comfort Malt Beer and exited the store without paying.
January 5
You Dropped Something – DUI/Possession of Cocaine
1200 block of Townsgate Ct
Officers responded to a parking lot near the listed location in reference to a 911 call that advised a subject was in a vehicle and needed assistance. Upon contact, two subjects were observed in the vehicle. One exhibited clear signs of impairment and was asked to step out of the vehicle to conduct a DUI investigation. The other also stepped out of the vehicle, at which time he removed a baggie of cocaine from his pocket and dropped it on the ground. The driver was placed under arrest for DUI, during which she resisted officers, refusing to be placed into the rear of a patrol car. The other subject was placed under arrest for Possession of Cocaine. Both subjects were transported to Orient Road Jail.
Hide and Seed – PC Pickup
1200 block of Townsgate Ct
An officer was conducting proactive patrol in the area and observed a subject who had an active PC pickup for domestic battery. The officer confirmed the identity and placed him under arrest. He was transported to Orient Road Jail.
January 6
Brewskis for my Pals – Petit Theft
2700 block of Thonotosassa Rd
An officer responded to the above location and met with the manager who stated a subject selected an 18-pack of Bud Light and exited the store without paying.
I’ll Huff and I’ll Puff – Throwing a Deadly Missile
An officer responded to the above location and met with the complainant, who reported a subject attempted to get employees inside to open the door by banging on exterior windows around the back of the business. When employees would not open the door, the subject went around front and began banging on the office door. The subject became visibly agitated and picked up a landscaping brick and threw it through the office window where an employee was sitting. Damage to the window was estimated at $550. The subject was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.
