MARCH 11

CAUGHT IN THE ACT

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Shoplifting. The two suspects placed several items, totaling $106.55, in a purse and attempted to exit the store through the garden center without paying.

NO WONDER HE’S AN EX

500 block of North Plant Street. Stolen Vehicle. The victim advised he loaned his 1997 red Dodge pickup to his uncle to run to the gas station. His mom’s ex-boyfriend went with his uncle. When the uncle went inside to pay for the gas, the ex-boyfriend got out of the truck, entered the driver seat and drove off. The victim delayed reporting the incident, because family members said they would get his truck returned to him.

… IT’S WHAT’S FOR DINNER

1400 block of South Collins Street. Petit Theft. An unknown female wearing a red shirt and black pants stole three packs of meat from the store and ran when confronted by store personnel. This investigation is ongoing.

TOYOTA TAKEN

3600 block of Trapnell Grove Loop. Stolen Vehicle. Unknown person(s) stole a tan 1997 Toyota Camry.

MISSING FONT

120 block of North Wilder Road. Criminal Mischief. Unknown person(s) damaged the city tennis center sign by removing the letters from the backboard. The damage is estimated at $500.

MISSING WHEELS

3400 block of West Baker Street. Business Burglary. The business owner advised four tires with rims had been stolen by sliding them under the chain-link fence. The business owner indicated he believed he knew who had taken them and did not wish to prosecute. A waiver of prosecution was signed.

MARCH 13

QUITE THE SCAM

3010 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Fraud. The victim reported that on March 4, a white male came in to the store to sell advertisements. The victim gave the suspect a check for $100 and received a hand-written receipt. He called the local business that was supposed to display the advertisements and spoke to the owner, who told him that he did not have anyone selling advertisements.

NEXT TIME, CALL A TAXI

Intersection of South Collins and West Renfro streets. DUI. An officer observed a gray 2008 Dodge traveling northbound and unable to maintain a single lane. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver agreed to field sobriety exercises that he could not complete successfully. He consented to breathalyzer test. Results for breathalyzer were .153 and .146. He was transferred to Orient Road Jail.

FUNNY MONEY

2900 block of Wilder Park Drive. Counterfeit Bills. The victim is a pizza delivery driver who accepted the counterfeit bills on a delivery from an unknown person(s) throughout the course of her shift. Counterfeit bills included a $10 bill, a $5 bill and two $1 bills.

MARCH 14

EARLY-MORNING HEIST

4700 block of Hunts Court. Theft from Motor Vehicle. At 4:37 a.m., four paddle boards were stolen from a red Chevy Silverado truck. Value of the stolen property is about $5,000.

TOOLS TAKEN

4650 block of Copper Lane. Vehicle Burglary. The victim advised between 6 p.m. March 12 and noon March 13, unknown person(s) stole $400 in miscellaneous tools and a $150 stroller from the bed of a 1994 Ford Ranger truck.

TOOLS TAKEN, TOO

4630 block of East Eastwind Drive. Vehicle Burglary. The victim advised 5 p.m. March 13 and 5 a.m. March 14, unknown person(s) stole his tool bag from the rear of his 2007 Chevy pickup.  Miscellaneous tools, worth $275, were taken from the unsecured truck bed.

A LITTLE HERE, A LITTLE THERE

1200 block of North Barnes Street. Theft. The victim advised that, in the last three weeks, her jewelry has started to come up missing. At this time, the missing jewelry totals $19,300. There are no signs of forced entry to the residence. The victim has a possible suspect in the theft.

MARCH 16

WALLET WOES

2800 block of Hampton Place. Vehicle Burglary. Unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe and stole a wallet.

QUICK STRIKE

1200 block of North Maryland Avenue. Residential Burglary. The victim left home at 6:30 a.m. and returned at 3 p.m. to find the front door was damaged. Unknown suspect(s) entered the home and stole an HP laptop, 42-inch TV and about 15 gold coins. The total amount of the theft is just under $5,000.

WHODUNNIT?

3110 block of Magnolia Meadows Drive. Grand Theft. The victim had two gold rings and a pistol stolen from his home. Several persons have been in and stayed at this home.

ALL THAT FOR CIGARETTES?!

3590 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Burglary to a Business. Two unknown suspects wearing masks and gloves used a stolen vehicle to drive through the doors of the business. They entered the store and stole several cartons of cigarettes, valued at $200. No other merchandise is known to be stolen at this time. The suspects then left the store and went east on Trapnell Road.

SMASH AND GRAB

600 block of East Alexander Street. Stolen Vehicle. The victim parked the 1994 Honda Civic at the residence earlier in the day. When the victim returned to the vehicle, he discovered it was gone and a pile of broken glass where the driver’s side of the vehicle had been. The owner advised it was secured when he parked it, and he was still in possession of the keys. A short time later, a burglary to a business was dispatched, and after viewing surveillance footage, it was determined it was the same vehicle in both incidents.

MARCH 17

NOT THE BRIGHTEST BULBS

4500 block of S.R. 574. Grand Theft Arrests. A 110-cc four-wheeler, valued at about $500, was stolen from the location. While the officer was talking to the victim, the suspect vehicle drove up then fled. Two of the suspect(s) were located, identified and arrested for the ATV theft. Later in the shift, the ATV was located and returned to the victim.

BIG LOSS

3060 block of Sutton Woods Drive. Residential Burglary. The victim advised that a commercial mixer, two deep fryers, a case of alcohol, three computers, six restaurant printers, two credit-card machines and a DVR camera system with 16 cameras — with a total value of about $26,500 — were stolen from the residence.

SCARY SITUATION

510 block of South Maryland Avenue. Aggravated Battery (Shooting). The victim advised he had been shot in the left hand by an unknown suspect. The victim advised he and a friend were coming out of the store, when they were confronted by four Hispanic males, who wanted jewelry the victim was wearing. The suspects all were wearing red shirts. The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction after the incident.
