Cops Corner 05.22.15

The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Plant City Police Department.

MAY 7

COWBOY UP

1400 block of Oakdale Ave. Grand theft of a firearm. The complainant reported that a silver .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver was stolen from his property.

WHAT A COINCIDENCE

Oak Hammock Lane/E. Timberlane Dr. Warrant/Narcotics arrest. A traffic stop for a safety violation turned up a warrant and led to the arrest of two suspects.

FIRST-TIMER

2100 block of James L. Redman Pkwy. Retail theft. Officer responded in reference to retail theft. The suspect and his mother were entered into the Juvenile Arrest Avoidance Program.

MORE BITE THAN BARK

2600 block of Adams Street. Dog bite. Complainant reported being bitten by a dog.

MAY 8

NEXT TIME, PAY UP

2100 block of James L. Redman Pkwy. Retail theft. Suspect was arrested for retail theft.

FRAUD FAILURE

2600 block of James L. Redman Pkwy. Grand theft/Scheme to defraud. Suspect was arrested for grand theft and attempting to commit fraud.

REUNITED AT LAST

Polk County. Recovered stolen vehicle. Officer located stolen 1994 Honda Civic after tip from Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

HAND IN THE COOKIE JAR

2600 block of James L. Redman Pkwy. Theft. Suspect was arrested for theft.

BRING THAT BACKPACK BACK

2600 block of James L. Redman Pkwy. Vehicle burglary. A backpack containing $482 in cash and clothes was stolen.

CAUGHT RED-HANDED

2600 block of James L. Redman Pkwy. Theft. Suspect was arrested for theft.

HIGH TIMES

Possession of drugs/paraphernalia. Officers arrested two suspects on counts of possession or paraphernalia, and possession of crack cocaine.

MAY 9

GET OUT OF MY CAR

1100 block of W. Risk Street. Stolen vehicle. A 1995 teal Saturn SL sedan was reported to have been stolen sometime between May 8 and May 9.

NEED FOR 10 SPEED

1500 block of E. Cherry Street. Bicycle theft. A blue and silver, 10-speed bicycle was reported stolen.

MAPPING AN ESCAPE ROUTE?

600 block of N. Alexander Street. Vehicle burglary. A Garmin GPS device, wallet and cell phone were reported stolen from a vehicle.

TRY KNOCKING POLITELY

600 block of E. Alexander Street. Criminal mischief. Complainant reported damage to his front door that happened after he left his house.

MAY 11

SLASH AND DASH

1300 block E. Cherry Street. Criminal mischief. Two tires on a blue 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer were cut overnight.

LIFT WEIGHTS, NOT WALLETS

2400 block of James L. Redman Pkwy. Petit Theft. Officers responded to gym in reference to a stolen wallet.

BRAND AMBASSADOR

110 block of W. Alexander Street. Theft. Officer responded in reference to an advertising flag that was stolen from a business.

MAY 12

WEIGHING THE OPTIONS

800 block of S. Gibbs Street. Burglary. Complainant reported a stolen jewelry scale.

MAY 13

FAKE IT ‘TILL YOU MAKE IT

2500 block of James L. Redman Pkwy. Counterfeit bill. Officer reported to a business which claimed it had received a counterfeit $50 bill.

SMILE! YOU’RE ON CAMERA

600 block of E. Baker Street. Petit theft. Complainant reported that a security camera on the building perimeter had been stolen.

JUST THE KNIVES?

2800 block of Wilder Park Drive. Vehicle burglary. Officers responded to a vehicle burglary report, where three pocket knives were stolen from the complainant.

MAY 14

iPOD TOUCHED

1700 block of Via Palermo. Retail theft. Complainant reported an iPod Touch, valued at $200, stolen from her vehicle.

HARDCORE GAMERS?

100 block of Orange Bud Way. Residential burglary. Complainant reported two Xbox gaming consoles, two headphone peripherals and a laptop computer as stolen.
