August 24

Pokemon GO – Vehicle Burglary

800 block of S. Alexander St

An officer responded to the above location and met with the complainant who reported sometime in the morning an unknown suspect shattered the driver’s door window and removed a Pokemon wallet from the center console. 

I Can’t Drive – At All – Warrant Arrest

Sammonds Road/State Road 574 

While conducting traffic enforcement an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop due to the infraction. Contact was made with the driver, who did not possess a driver’s license. An FCIC/NCIC check revealed the driver had an active Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) warrant for no valid driver’s license. The warrant was confirmed via an SCSO Operator. The driver was arrested and charged with the warrant and NVDL and was transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Are You Outta Your Mind? – Theft

2000 block of S. Frontage Rd

An officer responded to the above-listed area in reference to a delayed theft complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant, who advised he rode his bicycle to work securing it near a dumpster surrounded by a concrete wall. When he later checked on his bicycle during his break his bicycle was missing.

August 25

Car Gone – Stolen Vehicle

1300 block of E. Tomlin St

An officer responded to the above-listed area in reference to a stolen vehicle just occurred. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who advised he parked his vehicle and entered the residence. While he was inside, the vehicle was taken. Later in the shift Plant City Communications received a teletype that the Polk County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle, and two occupants of the vehicle were later arrested and the vehicle was recovered.

August 26

Don’t Do Drugs – Drug Possession

700 block of W. Baker St

An officer responded to the above address in reference to an unknown male subject on the front porch making loud noises. Contact was made with the subject who was taken into custody and transported to Orient Road Jail.

August 27

That’s Some Bad Luck – Warrant Arrest

S. Park Rd/E. Baker St

An officer encountered a disabled vehicle while working a Florida DOT detail. He met with the driver and learned he had an HCSO warrant for (FTA) reference Driving While License Canceled, Suspended, Or Revoked. The warrant was confirmed with a no bond status and the driver was transported to Orient Road Jail.

Good Fences, Good Neighbors – Criminal Mischief

2200 block of Sammonds Rd

An officer met with the complainant who stated between 08/24/2024 and 08/27/2024 and unknown person cut the fence in two places on the north side of the property and damaged three master locks to secured trailers stored on the property. 

August 28

Stay Away – Trespass after Warning

800 block of W. Madison St

An officer observed a person at the above listed property and had prior knowledge the suspect was trespassed on 07/03/2024. The suspect was charged with trespass after warning, possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to Orient Road Jail.

DWLSR/HTO Arrest

An officer observed a vehicle driving in a reckless manner violating numerous traffic laws. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver and sole occupant. The driver was arrested and charged with felony DWLSR and reckless driving and transported to Orient Road Jail.  

Are You Kidding Me? – Felony DWLSR Arrest

S. Collins St/W. Ball St

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to a traffic infraction. Contact was made with the driver who, it was learned, had ten (10) prior convictions for driving while license suspended. The driver was placed under arrest for felony DWLSR and transported to Orient Road Jail.

Off the Rails – Drug Investigation 

200 block of Waller St

An Officer observed a suspicious person trespassing on the CSX railroad tracks near the above-listed location. Contact was made with the subject, and they were informed of the infraction. The subject was arrested, charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to Orient Road Jail.
