August 30

Doo Doo Dispute- Assault- Waiver

900 Block of Loganderry Ln.

An officer responded to the address and met with two men in an altercation over dog feces and derogatory language, during which one of the men removed his shirt and hat to engage in physical combat. The other man pulled a gun. Both men signed waivers of prosecution.

Bagged Them- Residential Burglary

400 Block of Waller St.

Officers responded to the address and met with a woman who stated that someone entered her residence through an unlocked rear door and stole several purses.

Cold Weather Shopping- 

Theft- Shoplifting

2600 Block of James L. Redman Pkwy.

Officers responded and met with loss prevention employees who stated a flannel shirt had been stolen.

August 31

Bye-Cycle- Theft- Bicycle

900 Block of E. MLK Blvd.

Officers met with a man who stated his Gold Diamondback bicycle had been stolen.

A Holey Housebreaker- 

Residential Burglary

2000 Block of W. Risk St.

Officers responded to the address and met with a man who stated that during some point in the last two weeks, someone damaged a large hole in his wooden carport and crawled through the hole to gain access to steal a black string trimmer, box of trash bags and a lawn mower battery.

Three Strikes- Traffic Arrest

Spring St./S. Gordon St.

An officer arrested a woman for DWLS with knowledge (third offense) while conducting a traffic stop. The person was also charged with Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility and Possession of Cannabis under 20 grams.

September 1

Where’s My Key- Theft

400 Block of N. Alexander St.

Officers responded and met with a store employee who stated the store’s lock box keys had been stolen.

Haul It- Recovered Stolen Vehicle

One Police Center

An officer received a teletype from HCSO that a white General Motors Savanna Van (U-Haul) was recovered in Tampa. Stepps Towing removed the vehicle from the area to their lot. No arrests were made.

September 2

No License To Drive- NVDL Arrest

West Alabama and South Collins Sts.

An officer conducted a traffic stop due to a license plate infraction. The driver did not possess a valid driver’s license and had never been issued one. The vehicle was also unregistered. The driver was arrested for NVDL and transported to Orient Road Jail.

September 3

Tool Time- Stolen Vehicle Recovery

2000 Block of N. Shannon Ave.

An officer was patrolling the area and spotted a box truck with doors left open and several tools located in the bushes covered by plastic bags. Further investigation revealed the truck was an unreported stolen vehicle from a local business. 

Breaking Bad- Residential Burglary

3900 Block of Radiant Mountain Dr.

An officer responded to a construction site and met with a homebuilder representative who reported that someone during the weekend, electrical breaker boxes, doors and door locks were stolen from multiple residences. The value of the items was $4,650.

September 4

Tool Time Two- Business

Burglary- Delayed

600 Block of S. Frontage Rd.

Officers responded to the location where it was reported that during the night someone stole three cordless power drills, a cordless saw and a dolly from the business.

Napping- Possession 

of Methamphetamine

2900 block of Sammonds Rd.

Officers made contact with a man who was sleeping under a tarp. He was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.

400 Block of N. Alexander St.

An officer issued a criminal citation to a man for NVDL while conducting a traffic enforcement.

September 5

Clothes (Not) Shopping- Shoplifting

200 Block of W. Alexander St.

Officers responded to the Ross department store and met with loss prevention staff, who stated multiple items were stolen from the business.

Un-Locky- Burglary (Storage Unit)

1600 Block of Jim Johnson Rd.

An officer met with a renter of a storage unit, who stated that when she went to her storage unit the lock had been replaced. The storage unit owner advised her that a previous burglary report was made where units were broken into and locks replaced. Noritake china and Depression Glass was reported stolen valued at approximately $1500.
