The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Plant City Police Department.
SEPT. 9
BEER RUN
2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Retail Theft. The suspect was detained by store loss prevention for stealing a 24-pack of Natural Light Beer, valued at $15. After an investigation, the suspect was arrested. He was later transported to the Orient Road Jail.
FIST MEETS FACE
1530 block of Plantation Grove Court. Simple Battery. Officers responded to this apartment, in reference to a 911 hang-up call. It was determined through the investigation that a known black female punched the victim in the face during an argument. The suspect was gone when police arrived. The victim did not want to prosecute and signed a waiver of prosecution.
GANG SIGNS
2400 block of East Cherry Street. Criminal Mischief. On Sept. 6, unknown person(s) spray-painted an “X3” and “SUR” in black paint on the bathroom walls at Ellis Methvin Park. The damage is estimated at $100.
MOWER REMOVED
1510 block of Old Sydney Road. Grand Theft. Unknown suspect(s) stole a 44-inch, 16-horsepower Craftsman riding lawn mower, valued at $400, from the yard of the residence.
FIVE-FINGER DISCOUNT
2600 block of James L Redman Parkway. Retail Theft. The female suspect was detained by loss prevention for theft of merchandise valued at $47. After an investigation, the suspect was arrested and released with a court date.
GAME OVER
1600 block of West McLeod Drive. Residential Burglary. An unknown suspect entered the residence and stole miscellaneous jewelry and a Wii game console.
TANK TROUBLE
1420 block of Plantation Circle. Criminal Mischief. Unknown suspect(s) damaged the door to the gas tank on the victim’s vehicle. The damage was estimated at $40.
STOLEN SUITCASE
1210 block of Goldfinch Drive. Vehicle Burglary. The victim stated unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle and stole three picture frames, a car charger and a red suitcase. The total value of the items taken was about $200.
SEPT. 10
SECURITY STOLEN
900 block of West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Theft. The victim called to report unknown person(s) stole an external security video camera from the outside of the business. The camera was last seen Sept. 8. According to the victim, several other small items have been stolen from her property in the last few weeks.
FUNNY MONEY
610 block of North Maryland Avenue. Counterfeit Currency. An unknown person came into the store and tried to buy groceries with a counterfeit $10 bill. Once it was determined the bill was not real, the person left.
TRUE GENTLEMAN
300 block of Grant St. Domestic Assault. The suspect and the victim, his live-in girlfriend, were arguing. The suspect made the statement, “I’m going to [expletive] your face up,” and ran at the victim, placing her in fear. The suspect was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.
SEPT. 11
TOOL TIME
700 block of Hitchcock Street. Business Burglary. The business owner reported that between 6 p.m. Sept. 10, and 7 a.m. Sept. 11, unknown suspect(s) cut the fence on the north side of the business and stole a large blue Millermatic welding machine and a DeWalt stereo/charger from a storage trailer.
LAWN CARE LARCENY
100 block of Lake Boulevard. Grand Theft. Sometime between 10 p.m. Sept. 10, and 7 a.m. Sept. 11, an unknown person stole a black lawn trailer and a yellow z-turn mower.
LADIES MAN
Intersection of Ohio Street and Maryland Avenue. Shooting with a BB Gun. A 13-year-old female reported that after school, an unknown black male, about 14-years-old, shot her in the back with a BB gun and then ran away.
TRASHED
610 block of North Maryland Avenue. Retail Theft. The suspect removed food items from the store without paying for them, placed them in the Dumpster and re-entered the store. He was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.
AT LEAST SHE’S HONEST
Intersection of Turkey Creek and Reece roads. DUI. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 Chevy for speeding. The driver admitted she had been drinking. The driver was unable to complete field sobriety exercises. She was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.

TROUBLE ON TWO WHEELS
1400 block of South Collins Street. Bike Theft. The victim reported that someone stole her bike from the parking lot. The bike was described as a men’s green 10-speed bike, with a white seat.
STICKY FINGERS
1500 block of East Baker Street. Retail Theft. The suspect, a black female, about 40 to 50 years old and wearing a black tank top with designs on the front, blue shorts and blond hair in a short afro style, stole store merchandise and was last seen riding a BMX-style bike west from the store.
QUITE A RECORD FOR A JUVENILE
Intersection of North Collins and East Baker streets. Warrant Arrest. A black male juvenile was arrested on Hillsborough County warrants for giving a false name to law enforcement, no valid driver’s license and domestic violence battery. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center in Tampa.
JUST ADDING SOME FENG SHUI
100 block of South Forrest Street. Residential Burglary. The reporting person advised sometime after 4 p.m. Sept. 11, unknown suspect(s) opened a kitchen window to enter the home and had moved items around. At this time, it was unknown if anything was missing.
SCARY SITUATION
Intersection of South Maryland Avenue and East Laura Street. Robbery. A juvenile victim and his father came to the Plant City Police Department to report that when the juvenile was walking to school with his friend, they were approached by a light-skinned, thin, black male, about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8, on a bike. The black male displayed a gun in his waistband, and the juveniles just kept walking. The black male became agitated and jumped off the bike. He put the handgun in the juvenile’s face and asked for everything they had. One of the juveniles ran to a passing car and stopped the motorist. The black male suspect saw and jumped back on his bike and fled the scene. This investigation is ongoing.
MISSING FIREARM
3300 block of Spooner Drive. Theft. The victim advised that someone stole a 12-gauge shotgun, worth $100, from his residence. No signs of forced entry. The victim has a potential suspect in mind.
LITTERBUG
Intersection of South Alexander Street and Bowman Avenue. DUI. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a silver SUV for littering. The officer made contact with the driver and noticed signs of possible intoxication. The driver was unable to correctly perform field sobriety exercises and admitted to being intoxicated.
NO GOOD DEED …
100 block of North Palmer Street. Battery. Several individuals attempted to break up a fight in the parking lot. Those individuals ended up getting battered by the people fighting. The suspects fled the scene in a red truck.

MISSING MUSIC
800 block of West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Vehicle Burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked 2003 Chevy Tahoe and removed miscellaneous CDs, loose change and a flashlight.
SEPT. 14
THE COMPANY YOU KEEP
300 block of South Frontage Road. Grand Theft. The victim got a hotel room for the night. A black male she knows only by his first name was staying with her. When she woke up, $418 in cash was missing from her purse, and the male was gone.
GONE WITH THE WIND
2300 block of Maki Road. Grand Theft Auto. Unknown suspect(s) stole a gold 2000 Plymouth Breeze from the parking lot.
SEPT. 15
WHAT A NIGHT
3200 block of Thackery Way. Criminal Mischief. The victim left her house last night to go out with friends and returned home at 3 am. the next morning. After sleeping for a while, she woke up and walked onto her back porch. She found her laptop computer and several pieces of patio furniture in the pool. Around the pool deck were several empty beer, wine and alcohol bottles.
NAUGHTY GNOMES
900 block of North Bracewell Drive. Residential Burglary. Since July 2013, the victim has noticed several yard statues and other miscellaneous items have been removed from his yard. Someone also cut the screen to his locked back porch and stole a patio table.
CAUGHT IN THE ACT
600 block of South Frontage Road. Petit Theft. Officers responded to Palm Harbor Homes, in reference to a theft in progress. While en-route, offices received information that a dark-colored Ford truck left the property after loading two axles into the truck bed. A traffic stop was conducted on the truck. Upon completion of investigation, two suspects were arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.
