Trailer Tales – Stolen Vehicle

4600 block of Airport Rd

An officer responded to the police department and met with the complainant who reported he left his enclosed trailer at the above location on August 30.  When he returned on September 12, the trailer was missing and had not been seen since.  The trailer was entered into FCIC/NCIC as stolen.

That’s A Trip – Stolen Vehicle Recovery

1 Police Place

An officer responded to the Police Department in reference to Plant City Communications receiving a teletype from the New York Police Department. The teletype advised an officer recovered a stolen motorcycle previously reported stolen on 02/27/2022. No arrests were made and the motorcycle was found in poor working condition. The vehicle was removed from FCIC/NCIC as stolen and the owner was contacted.

September 21

Light’em Up – Resist w/o violence & Drug Possession

An officer attempted to stop a subject for no bicycle light and the subject fled on foot.  The subject was subsequently arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.

Finders Keepers – Stolen Vehicle

Charlie Taylor Rd/E Knights Griffin Rd

An officer responded to the intersection and met with the complainant who reported around 12:30 p.m. he had mechanical issues with his motorcycle and parked it in the gravel to the south of the intersection. He caught a ride to his home in Lakeland to retrieve his truck and returned at 1:42 p.m. to find the motorcycle missing. 

Unlocked and Loaded – Vehicle Burglary

500 block of W Renfro St

An officer responded to the above location and met with the complainant who reported overnight, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked car and removed a 9mm handgun from the vehicle. 

No Parking – Drug Investigation/

Resisting w/o violence

1900 block of James L Redman Pkwy

An officer observed a vehicle parked behind the above location with the driver’s door open. The subject was arrested for resisting an officer without violence and possession of cannabis under 20 grams.

Tipsy Traffic – DUI Arrest

Victoria and Whitehall Street

An officer responded to the above-listed intersection in reference to a traffic crash. Upon arrival, contact was made with the driver of vehicle 1, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Based on the totality of an investigation, the driver was placed under arrest for DUI.

Clean Getaway – Theft

1800 block of James L Redman Pkwy

Officers responded and met with employees of the business and learned 53 containers of laundry detergent pods were stolen.

Do Not Disturb – Warrant Arrest

1700 block of Turkey Creek Rd

An officer made contact with a wanted subject during a disturbance call for service.  An FCIC/NCIC check revealed an active Hillsborough County warrant for FTA petit theft.  The warrant was confirmed and the subject was transported to Orient Road Jail.

September 24

You Can’t Be Here – Trespass Arrest

400 block of N Alexander St

An officer was in the above area and observed a subject on the property, with a prior trespass warning being issued in June of this year. Additionally, it was observed that the subject solicited money from occupants within a vehicle traveling on the roadway. The subject was arrested for soliciting in the roadway and trespassing after warning. 

Not A Ninja – Loitering and Prowling

W Baker and Sioux St

An officer was patrolling the area and observed a male subject emerge from the shadows between residences wearing a hoodie and ski mask. Upon seeing the marked PCPD vehicle, the subject fled on foot through yards, pulled off and threw away the ski mask, and was located and detained a short distance later.  The juvenile was arrested.

Planning Ahead – Warrant Arrest/

Possession of Concealed Handcuff Key

600 block of N Maryland Ave

An officer observed a subject in the above area and made contact. An FCIC/NCIC check revealed the subject had an active Federal Department of Corrections warrant for violation of parole.  The subject was placed under arrest and a search of his person revealed a concealed handcuff key in his right front pocket. The subject was additionally charged and transported to Orient Road Jail.
