October 11

Neighborly Shove? – Simple Battery

2000 block of Greenwood Valley Drive

An officer responded to the above-listed area in reference to a neighbor dispute. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who advised that he and his neighbor got into a verbal argument over an ongoing issue. The complainant stated that he was pushed during the argument. 

October 12

Well that’s embarrassing – Stolen and Recovered 

1500 block of Frontage Rd

Reported 10/11/2024 delayed entry: Officers responded to the incident location in reference to a delayed stolen vehicle. Contact was made with the complainant who stated someone had removed a water truck valued at approximately $50,000. The water truck was later located near the construction site stuck in a ditch. 

Round and Round and Round – Grand Theft

900 block of N Baker St

Officers met with the complainant who stated three zero-turn mowers had been stolen from the business. 

Group Meeting – Affray

1900 block of James L Redman Pkwy

An officer responded to a reported fight involving 15-20 individuals at the above-listed location. Upon arrival, two males were located in the parking lot, while all others had left. One stated that a group of 10-15 people began attacking him and his friend without provocation.

Bang, Bang – Recovered Stolen Firearm

300 block of S. Frontage Rd

Officers responded to the location in reference to a firearm found. Contact was made with an employee who stated a firearm was found in a room. Officers collected the firearm and later learned via make and serial number that the firearm had been reported stolen out of Bartow in June of 2023.

Stay Away – Trespassing Arrest

600 block of N Maryland Ave

An officer responded to the above-listed business in reference to a suspicious person complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with a subject who was learned to have been previously trespassed from the property on 08/14/2024. Due to the subject being observed on the property he was placed under arrest for trespass after warning and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Don’t Look Suspicious – Drug Arrest

800 block of N. Martin Luther King, Jr Blvd

An officer observed a white male sitting near the above-listed address seated on a log with his head lowered and a shirt covering his face. Contact was made with the subject to check on his wellbeing. The subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and transported to Orient Road Jail.

Finders Keepers Is Not A Thing – Fraud

3400 block of W. Baker St

An officer responded to the above-listed location in reference to a credit card fraud complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who advised she had been involved in a motor vehicle accident the previous day and believed she might have left her wallet on top of her vehicle, causing it to fall off as she drove away. The wallet contained several credit cards that were used in a series of unauthorized transactions between noon and 4:00 p.m. on October 13.

Lessons Never Learned – Trespassing Arrest

S. Gordon St

An officer responded to the above-listed area in reference to a suspicious person complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with a subject who was learned to have been previously trespassed from the property on 03/20/2024. Due to the subject being observed on the property he was placed under arrest for trespass after warning and transported to Orient Road Jail.

October 14

Be Inconspicuous – Petit Theft

2500 block of James L Redman Pkwy

Officers responded to the scene in reference to a theft that just occurred. Contact was made with the victim who stated someone had taken from the victim’s bag and left the area on foot. While on scene the suspect returned and was wearing previously stolen clothing belonging to the victim. The suspect was placed under arrest for theft and taken to Orient Road Jail.

October 15

Better Safe Than Sorry – Residential Burglary 

800 block of S. Ball St

Officers responded to the residence in reference to the screen being removed from the rear window along with glass breakage. Contact was made with the homeowner who relayed her discovery and had not entered the home yet. Officers conducted an interior check of the home and found subject one hiding inside a bedroom. Subject two was found hiding inside a fully zipped duffle-type gym bag. Once subject two was taken out of the bag, he was placed under arrest. Further investigation revealed the offense of residential burglary occurred at which time both subjects were charged. Also, subject one was charged with accessory after due to intentionally hiding subject two and lying to LEO as to his whereabouts. Both were transported to jail.
