October 18

You Can’t Hide – Warrant Arrest

400 block of W. Renfro St

Officers responded to the above location in reference to a subject having an active Pasco County arrest warrant for VOP. Contact was made with the subject, and the warrant was confirmed. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Knock, Knock – Construction Site 

Burglary

4000 block of Radiant Mountain Dr

Officers responded to the incident location in reference to a delayed burglary. Contact was made with the complainant who stated that sometime between yesterday afternoon and the time of this report someone had entered the closed garage of a home being finished and took seven (7) doors valued at $890.00 total.

That Took A While – Grand Theft Auto

400 block of N. Frontage Rd

An officer responded to the Police Department and met with the complainant who reported on 04/05/2024 he dropped off an ATV for a service estimate. The repair estimate was higher than the value of the ATV and he sent two employees on 05/20/2024 to pick it up. The business was no longer in possession and advised two employees had previously picked up the ATV.  The complainant delayed reporting the theft because he checked every facility and spoke with the directors to verify the ATV was missing.  

Bye-Cycle – Theft

2200 block of Village Park Rd

Officers responded and met with the complainant, who explained on October 17 around 6:00 a.m. she left her bicycle downstairs, underneath the stairwell, overnight. The complainant did not realize the bicycle was missing until 1:00 p.m. today. The complainant did not give anyone permission to have the bicycle.  

Sawing Chains – Theft

400 block of Hunter St

Officers responded and met with the complainant who advised he left home around 3:00 p.m. today, with a 25-inch Stihl chainsaw sitting on the front porch. The complainant stated the value of this chainsaw was around $2000. When he arrived back home at around 9:00 p.m. he realized the chainsaw was missing.

October 19

Don’t Get Violent – Simple Battery

2900 block of W. Reynolds St

Officers responded to the area in reference to a subject throwing rocks at vehicles. While en route it was learned that an employee of the above location called to report a female, matching the description of the initial call, punched her on the side of her head while in the parking lot. Officers made contact with the suspect who stated she was being asked to leave the location, however, would not mention anything about battering the employee. Contact was made with the victim, who stated she had previously asked the subject to leave the store while she was getting off work. She then exited the store and while near her vehicle the same subject came up from behind and punched her on the back right side of her head with her fist then fled south. The victim stated she did not want to pursue charges and just wanted the lady to leave the area. A waiver of prosecution was completed at the request of the victim.

Holey Garage – Criminal Mischief

2400 block of Procchi St

Officers responded to the above location in reference to a possible burglary attempt. The complainant stated that sometime between 5:00 p.m. Friday 10/18 and this afternoon at approximately 3:00 p.m., unknown subject(s) used power tools to cut large holes in the side of two storage garages on the property.

No License To Drive – CCI

1700 block of James L Redman Pkwy

While patrolling the area of James L Redman Pkwy and Maki Rd, officers observed a van with an expired tag of more than 6 months. A traffic stop was conducted and after meeting with the driver it was learned he did not have a valid driver’s license and had never had one. A citation was issued for the expired tag and a criminal citation was issued for NVDL. A licensed driver responded to the parking lot and drove the vehicle from the scene.

Don’t Drink and Drive – DUI

S. Wheeler St/W. Alabama St

An officer was patrolling in the area of S. Wheeler St. and W. Alabama St. when they observed a vehicle stopped in the roadway traveling south in the northbound lanes of S. Wheeler St. and just north of W. Alabama St. He then observed the vehicle traveling south in the wrong lane until he struck the yellow diamond-shaped sign located at the dead end of S. Wheeler St. The officer initiated a traffic stop and met with the driver who was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to Orient Road Jail.
