November 1

One for the Road – Battery/Arrest

2000 block of Greenwood Valley Dr

Officers responded to the area in reference to a disturbance between neighbors. Contact was made with the victim who, while outside near the roadway, pointed to the suspect and stated he was the person who hit him with a glass bottle. It was learned that the two were in a verbal argument at which time the suspect threw a glass bottle and struck the victim in the leg without his permission. The suspect was placed under arrest for battery and due to being adjudicated as an adult, he was taken to Orient Road Jail.

Door Jam – Burglary

3700 block of Capital Reserve Dr

Officers responded to the residence in reference to a theft. Contact was made with the complainant who stated someone had stolen a single interior door valued at $200 from within the secured home.

Not Cool – Theft

600 block of Coronet St

Officers responded to the above location in reference to the delayed theft of an air conditioner unit. Contact was made with the victim, who stated he last saw the exterior A/C unit attached to the home the day before and found it had been stolen.

Lost and Found – Stolen and Recovered Vehicle

200 block of W. Baker St

Officers responded to the area in reference to a vehicle left unattended and running while in the parking lot. Officers located the vehicle with no tag attached. FCIC/NCIC check of the VIN showed who the vehicle belonged to. Contact was made with business owner who stated the vehicle was last seen on the lot the previous afternoon and no one should be in possession of the vehicle.

Don’t Drink and Park – DUI Arrest

2300 block of N. Park Rd

Officers responded to the area in reference to a vehicle crash that occurred in a parking lot. Contact was made with the at-fault driver who was arrested for DUI and transported to Orient Road Jail.

Drinks Before Dinner – DUI Arrest

2000 block of S. Frontage Rd

Officers were flagged down by staff at a business regarding a patron who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Staff reported that he was falling asleep in a booth and had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and person. The staff did not want him trespassed, they requested he leave the premises. Shortly afterward, officers observed the subject approach a vehicle parked at a nearby location. The vehicle was missing its entire front driver’s side tire, and the rear driver’s side tire was completely flat. The subject entered the vehicle, started it, and attempted to reverse out of the parking space. At this point, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the subject.

November 3

Don’t Do Drugs – Drug Violation

E. Reynolds St/N. Collins St

Officers performed a traffic stop at the above-listed location. The stop occurred after the driver ran a steady red light, and officers noted a strong odor of cannabis emanating from the vehicle. Upon contact with the driver, she admitted to smoking cannabis earlier but denied having any in the car. Despite her initial refusal to consent to a search, officers explained that the odor provided probable cause, leading her to comply. During the search, officers found a baggy containing approximately 3 grams of cannabis in the center console and another baggy containing five Oxycodone pills in the rear cup holder. An officer confirmed the pill identification using the drugs.com application. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of cannabis (less than 20 grams) and possession of a controlled substance. Following arrest procedures, her vehicle was released to her daughter, and she was transported to Orient Road Jail.

November 4

More Don’t Do Drugs – Possession/Drug Paraphernalia 

2300 block of N. Gordon St

Officers responded to the area in reference to a suspicious person call. Upon arrival, an officer located a subject fitting the description who was observed actively smoking methamphetamine from a glass bubble. The subject was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.
