Cops Corner 11.27.15

The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Plant City Police Department.

Nov. 13

FALSE ALARM

1200 block of West Madison Street. Trespass waiver. Officer responded to a residence in reference to a report of a trespasser on site. Suspect was found at the residence, and the officer learned that the man had had a previous trespassing charge. The complainant declined to press charges and signed a waiver of prosecution, but it was then learned that the residence was listed as the man’s home after a further check on his probation. The trespass warning was then voided.

Nov. 16

HOW MUCH?!

2300 block of Maki Road. Vehicle burglary. Officer made contact with a complainant, who stated that his vehicle had been burglarized by unknown suspect(s). Complainant stated that, after he had left his vehicle unlocked, suspect(s) stole his wallet – which contained $4,147.

MISSING MOWER

4200 block of Business Lane. Burglary. Officer responded to a business in reference to a reported theft. Complainant stated that unknown suspect(s) damaged a lock on a shed and entered the structure, stealing hand tools and a Skag Freedom Z lawn mower were stolen.

NICE TRY

400 block of North Alexander Street. Theft. Officer responded to a business in reference to a reported theft. Complainant stated that a suspect stole a case of Bud Light Platinum beer, and the officer was able to locate the man. The suspect was brought back to the business, paid for the beer and, after the complainant declined to press charges and signed a waiver of prosecution, issued a trespass warning.

THOSE DARN KIDS

320 block of Park Springs Court. Criminal mischief. Officer responded to a residence following a report of criminal mischief. Complainant stated that unknown suspect(s) scratched up her vehicle, causing damage totaling $100. She believed that neighborhood kids were responsible, declined to press charges and signed a waiver of prosecution.

Nov. 18

SORRY WE’RE CLOSED

210 block of North Alexander Street. Criminal mischief. Officer responded to a business following a report of criminal mischief. Complainant reported that, overnight, unknown suspect(s) filled three of the business’s locks were filled with super glue.

PLAY YOUR CARDS RIGHT

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Retail theft. Officer located and arrested a suspect for stealing playing cards, worth $59.92, from a business.

Nov. 19

VEXING EX

1200 block of North Park Road. Theft. Officer met with complainant, who stated that her ex-boyfriend had stolen her key ring and fled. The officer was able to locate the man, who then returned the key ring. The complainant declined to press charges and signed a waiver of prosecution.
