November 22

You Can’t Sleep Here – Drug Investigation

800 block of W. Warren St

An officer was conducting security checks of residences and businesses containing open trespass agreements with PCPD. The officer made contact with a subject inside a vacant residence, and they were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and transported to Orient Road Jail.

Smash and No Grab – Criminal Mischief

400 block of Pevetty Dr

An officer responded to the above location in reference to a vehicle with broken rear window. Contact was made with the victim who stated nothing was taken from within the vehicle and no other damage was reported.

You Can Run – Warrant Arrest

Pearl St & W. Reynolds St

An officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who, it was discovered, possessed an active Polk County warrant for VOP 2 counts petit theft, 2 counts false info to pawn broker under 300. The warrant was verified. The defendant also possessed a Writ of Bodily Attachment. A driver’s license check also revealed a currently suspended license showing a declared Habitual Traffic Offender and 3 prior DWLS convictions. The warrants were confirmed and the driver was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.

November 23

You Can’t Park Here – Trespass After Warning

900 block of E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd

Officers were checking the above location and made contact with a subject who had an active trespass warning. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.

Park Somewhere Else – Simple Battery

200 block of W. Alexander St

An officer met with the victim who reported getting into a verbal altercation with an unknown subject in the parking lot over a parking space. The subject began spitting on the victim’s vehicle and when the victim confronted him, the suspect spit in his face and then fled.

You Can’t Hide – PC Pickup – Arrest

E. Laura St/S. Knight St

An officer was conducting active patrol and located a vehicle belonging to a subject who had an active PC Pickup for felony battery and tampering with a witness. The subject was taken into custody and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Is That a Skunk – Drug Violation

E. Laura St/S. Knight St

While conducting the above-listed investigation, the officer detected the strong odor of burnt cannabis coming from the interior of the vehicle and conducted a search. This added drug charges. 

Just Needed a Shower – Agg Assault on LEO

1400 block of S. Collins St

Officers were on scene investigating a possible theft from a business. A subject became agitated with officers and removed an approximately four-foot-long metal shower curtain rod from his shopping cart and brandished it toward two officers in a threatening manner. The subject was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Run, Run, Fast As You Can – Felony Petit Theft

2600 block of James L Redman Pkwy

An officer was on routine patrol in the parking lot at the above location when he was approached by Loss Prevention who pointed out a shoplifter fleeing on foot. The subject was detained and later arrested for felony petit theft and all stolen property was recovered/returned.

Grab And Go – Petit Theft

2600 block of James L Redman Pkwy

Officers responded to the above location in reference to the victim, while shopping, having a wallet stolen that contained a social security card, concealed weapons permit and $56 cash.

November 28

Just Doing Laundry – Warrant Arrest

2700 block of Paul Buchman Hwy

Officers responded to the above location in reference to a disturbance with a subject taking her clothing off and walking in and out of the roadway. Upon arrival, contact was made with the subject who had an active warrant for failure to appear reference trespass. The subject was taken into custody, the warrant confirmed, and transported to Orient Road Jail.
