The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Plant City Police Department.
Feb. 23
JOY RIDE
Sydney Road/Airport Road.
Theft: Complainants stated unknown suspect(s) stole a green and yellow John Deere Gator utility vehicle. The Gator belongs to the City of Plant City.
WHY DID THE HANDGUN CROSS THE ROAD?
South Park Road/East Ohio Street.
Found property: An officer found a silver Taurus revolver with a black rubber grip lying in the roadway. A check on the gun revealed it had not been reported stolen, and it was placed into PCPD property for safekeeping.
A REAL BOOKWORM
1710 block of James L. Redman Parkway.
Vehicle burglary: Complainant stated a suspect entered his unlocked vehicle while he was at work between 10 and 11 p.m. A red Jansport backpack containing five college textbooks, valued together at $500, was stolen. Complainant requested a case number so as not to be charged for the books and signed a waiver of prosecution.
Feb. 24
ANSWERING THE CALL
1100 block of West Spencer Street.
Multiple charges: An officer responded to a call for help from a woman sitting in a red truck. The driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and resisted arrest without violence. He was taken to Orient Road Jail without incident.
Feb. 25
UNCOOL UBER
510 block of South Maryland Avenue.
Strong-armed robbery: Officers found a shirtless, injured male subject wandering around the area. Subject stated he was robbed of $200 and attacked by unknown suspects after an Uber driver dropped him off at an unknown location. The subject couldn’t tell officers where he was going, where he was dropped off, where he came from or what his attackers looked like. He received medical treatment at the hospital and signed a waiver of prosecution.
CUT AND RUN
2400 block of James L. Redman Parkway.
Theft: Complainant stated a male subject received a haircut but left the business when asked to pay. An officer was able to locate the subject, who was arrested for theft of services.
NOTHING BETTER TO DO
1220 block of Goldfinch Drive.
Harassing communications: A male subject was arrested for making multiple vulgar calls to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s 911 emergency line and PCPD’s nonemergency lines.
Feb. 28
HUNGER KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES
200 block of West Alexander Street.
Information report: Complainant stated while preparing an order at a pizzeria, he received a call from a male subject who stated the order was falsely placed in his name with his credit card information. The order was placed for a residence on East Ohio Street and the cardholder is a resident of Indiana.
