MEAL STEALS
2000 block of South Frontage Road.
Theft: Complainant stated two unknown subjects ordered two meals at a diner, finished them and left the business without paying for the food.
April 16
IF YOU’RE NOT USING IT, I WILL
1600 block of Charles Avenue.
Residential burglary: Complainant stated unknown suspect(s) stole appliances from a residence that had not been occupied for the last three months. The appliances were valued at $900.
PIZZA PROBLEMS
1800 block of James L. Redman Parkway.
Scheme to defraud: Complainant stated a pizzeria received seven fake electronic orders, which caused the restaurant to lose $263.37 in product.
April 17
NO MORE GAS, NO MORE CAR
Whitehall Street/Mahoney Street.
Abandoned vehicle: Officer responded to a report of a vehicle left unattended in a roadway and made contact with its owner, who stated he ran out of gas and abandoned the vehicle. The owner refused to go get the vehicle, so it was listed as abandoned and towed from the roadway.
April 18
WHERE THERE’S SMOKE…
1000 block of East Baker Street.
Information report: Plant City Fire Rescue extinguished a fire at an abandoned residence and determined it appeared suspicious, so the State Fire Marshal was contacted for further investigation.
April 19
A GROWING CONCERN
4350 block of Highway 92 East.
Theft: Complainant stated 10 tons of Nutricote fertilizer were stolen through a purchase with a stolen credit card.
SHOTS FIRED?
1310 block of East Spencer Street.
Information report: Complainant, a juvenile male, stated another juvenile male subject shot at him with a BB gun while they were playing. Complainant stated he was shot in the buttocks, and that the other male shot his bicycle helmet and a tire. The complainant had no visible injuries and the damage to the helmet and tire was not consistent with what a BB gun’s shot could have caused. Officer completed an information report in case further evidence comes up.
SCAMMED
800 block of South Tyler Street.
Information report: Complainant stated she gave an unknown subject her Social Security number and bank account login information in exchange for $55,000, and the subject then ordered her to purchase iTunes gift cards with her credit card. Complainant purchased $700 worth of gift cards and sent the barcode numbers to the subject via text message.
