June 7

Free Truck Day – Stolen Vehicle

2700 block of Thonotosassa Rd

Officers met with the complainant at the above location in reference to a stolen vehicle. The complainant stated he parked his white truck at the gas pump and went inside.  While inside the store, the complainant observed the vehicle drive out of the parking lot. A black utility trailer, Taurus revolver, iPhone, and lawn equipment were also taken.

Another Free Vehicle? – Stolen Vehicle

300 block of N. Collins St

An officer responded to the above location in reference to a stolen vehicle and met with the complainant who advised a vehicle was stolen from the parking lot last night. 

Smokin – CCI(NVDL)

E. Baker St/N. Michigan Ave

An officer conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. It was found that the driver has never had a license issued. The driver consented to a search of the vehicle and two small pipes were located inside with marijuana still in them. The pipes were seized and placed into evidence for destruction and the driver was issued a criminal UTC for NVDL and a UTC for speeding. 

No License to Drive – CCI(NVDL)

W. Alexander St/Baptist Church Rd

An officer conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Contact was made with the driver who was found to have never had a driver’s license issued. A criminal UTC was issued to the driver for NVDL as well as a UTC for the moving violation. 

June 8

Nap Time – Driving Under the Influence

James L Redman Pkwy/Charlie Griffin Blvd

Officers responded to a subject passed out in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the active travel lanes. Contact was made with the subject who exhibited signs of impairment, and  was placed under arrest for DUI.

Found It! – Stolen Vehicle Recovery

2900 block of Lakhouse Cover Isle

An officer responded to the above location in reference to a stolen vehicle pinging at this location. The vehicle was located parked at the far corner of the property covered with a car cover. Once confirmed stolen, the vehicle was removed from FCIC/NCIC, and the owner was contacted. The owner had no way to respond and pick up the vehicle so it was towed and the owner was notified of the location. 

June 9

That’s Methed Up – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

3000 block of Griffin Rd

Officers conducted an area check of the above location and observed multiple homeless encampments. Officers made contact with a subject who was sleeping in a tent. Upon exiting the tent officers observed a glass pipe commonly used for illegal narcotics activity. The glass pipe field tested presumptive positive for Methamphetamine. The subject was subsequently charged with possession of paraphernalia and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

June 10

No Copay – Business Burglary

600 block of E Alexander St.

An officer responded to the above location and met with the complainant who reported between 6/7/24 and 6/10/24, an unknown suspect entered the business through the unlocked back door and took seven Dell laptops valued at $10,5000. 

Move the Soul – Aggravated Battery

S. Alexander St/Airport Rd

Officers met with the victim who was involved in a road rage altercation with an unknown person in a black truck. After words were exchanged within the intersection, the subject got back in the truck and intentionally rammed into the victim who was seated on a motorcycle, causing a fall and minor lacerations.

100 block of Pearl St

An officer met with the victim who reported an attack during a verbal altercation. The victim was able to remove the attacker from the apartment and secured the door via deadbolt. The attacker forced entry by kicking the door open, causing damage to the door frame, and attacked the victim again, striking the victim in the head with an ashtray and possibly a firearm. 

Bang, Bang – Shooting into Residence

500 block of S. Knight St

An officer responded to the area in reference to shots heard. Damage was found to the residence, which was occupied at the time of the shooting, and two vehicles parked in front of it.

1300 block of Dr. King Blvd

An officer responded to the area in reference to shots heard. Damage was found to the residence, which was occupied at the time of the shooting.

June 11

You again? – Trespass After Warning

500 block of N. Alexander St

An officer made contact with the subject who was previously trespassed from the location. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.

I’ll Take That To Go – Retail Theft

2600 block of James L Redman Pkwy

Officers responded to the area after loss prevention reported following a subject after they committed a theft. The subject was located and with more than two previous theft convictions, was charged with felony petit theft and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Hmmmm? – Stolen Vehicle

N. Palmer St/E. Tever St. 

Officers met with the complainant, who reported leaving a vehicle on the side of N. Palmer St. near E. Tever St to walk the railroad tracks looking for a stolen motorcycle during the early morning hours. The complainant advised walking for a long distance and calling a friend for a ride home. The complainant went back later to get the vehicle and it was gone.
