Faux IRS
1700 block of Ohio St.
Fraud: The complainant told officers she had received a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS. She was told that a warrant for her arrest would be issued if she did not purchase a Google Play card in the amount of $385 to pay “back taxes.” So, to avoid arrest, she did as she was told. Then after it was all said and done she realized it was a scam and called the police.
Adapter heist
2600 block of James L. Redman Pkwy
Petit theft: Officers came out to Walmart to respond to a theft. The suspect admitted to the theft of a Chromebook tv adapter that was valued at $69. He was arrested and taken to Orient Road Jail.

Dine and dash
2000 block of S. Frontage Rd.
Theft of services: The complainant told officers a male and a female ordered two meals, which totaled $25. They ate the meals and then fled from the restaurant without paying for the food.

Abracadabra
2600 block of James L. Redman Pkwy
Vehicle burglary: Officers responded to Wal-Mart due to a call about a vehicle burglary. The victim told officers he was missing $120 in magic playing cards.
A Prime victim
1000 block of N. Willis St.
Theft: The complainant told officers that two Amazon packages were delivered to her house. When she came home, both packages were gone.

Betrayed at the net
1700 block of E. Cherry St.
Theft: A complainant told officers he had been playing soccer at Mike Sansone Park between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. when someone stole his Google Pixel smartphone from his gym bag.
