What is something you always look forward to at the Florida Strawberry Festival?
I get so excited to meet all of the people. I think it’s amazing how many people come from all over the world.
What was the most interesting part of the festival pageant?
I haven’t been in many pageants. I’ve only been in ones for my community. But I think it’s interesting that we have to do a commercial. Not a lot of pageants do that. I think it’s neat, because it really gets a lot of our community involved.
What is your favorite place to hang out in Plant City?
I love to go to the movies. I go there all the time on the weekends.
What was it like growing up in the Astin family? Were you involved on the farm?
I definitely was. My whole life, I’ve always been around, and I’ve always helped my dad out on the farm.
What is something few people know?
I love the Amish doughnuts at the festival. I am a farmer’s daughter, and my dad might get mad if I say my favorite thing isn’t the strawberries, but the doughnuts are hands-down my favorite thing to eat.
