Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office detectives are looking for a man wanted for armed home invasion robbery, false imprisonment and battery on a person over 65.
Willie D. Thomas, 30, was cooperating with detectives and agreed to turn himself in over the weekend, but has yet to do so. Thomas is known to frequent the Plant City and Polk County areas and may be driving a black unknown model Hyundai.
At about 2 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, Thomas forcibly entered a 77-year-old victim’s home in Plant City. Once inside, armed with a BB pistol which resembled a semi auto handgun, Thomas demanded money and threaten to kill the victim.
Thomas tied the victim’s hands using a cord and sheet before he fled with the victim’s purse, which had cash in it. The victim was not injured, and it was not a random act.
Anyone with any information as to the whereabouts of Thomas is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200, or anyone who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report anonymously online at CrimeStoppersTB.com or send a mobile tip using our P3 Tips Mobile application, which is a free download for iPhones, iPads and Droids.
