Detectives seek community assistance in identifying fraud suspect

A woman has been targeting elderly women in Plant City and Orlando in efforts to obtain their banking information for fraudulent purchases.

The suspect, an African-American female who has been described as being between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9 and between 135 to 150 pounds, is thought to be responsible for several recent fraudulent transactions in Plant City and Orlando.

The woman targets elderly females for their banking information and then creates a counterfeit bank card with the stolen data. The bank card is used to make fraudulent purchases.

It is unknown whether the woman is from Plant City or Orlando. In most of the crimes, she was seen driving a newer model gray Dodge Charger.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay. A reward of up to $3,000 is offered for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the woman.

Crime Stoppers can be reached at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), and anonymous reports can be submitted online at CrimeStoppersTB.com. Crime Stoppers must be contacted first to be eligible for the cash reward.

The Plant City Police Department's public information office can be contacted regarding information about the specific fraudulent cases in the Plant City area.
