A local group is hoping to bring diabetes awareness into Plant City's spotlight.
The "Stepping for Diabetes" walk, which Murat Temple #180, Ancient Egyptian Order Noble of the Mystic Shrine, Prince Hall Affiliated created as an annual event, will take place from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. this Saturday, March 26, starting at the MLK Rec Center, 1601 E. Dr. MLK Blvd. In addition to the walk, there will be free health screenings, a Praize Kraze Fitness session and snacks.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on race day. The cost is $10 for adults, and $5 for children in kindergarten through 12th grade.
