Double homicide victims identified

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide that occurred at 3802 East Highway 60 in Plant City.

Police responded at about 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, to a 911 call that shots had been fired at an area between Twilight Zone Lounge and a residential building with month-to-month leasing. Upon arrival, units confirmed that two victims were dead.a

One of the victims was Lloyd Travonte Gordon, 20, of Lakeland. The second victim was Jose Rolando Aguirre, 17, of Mulberry.

Detectives believe the incident was drug-related.

“Our information is somewhat vague at this time, but … we have a lot of personnel on the scene,” Sheriff David Gee said. HCSO is conducting an active ground search.

After conducting witness interviews, detectives have determined that the suspect is a hispanic male, last seen wearing a red shirt, khaki cargo shorts and white sneakers.

“He’s desperate, and he’s on foot,” Gee said. He said anyone in the area should be cautious at this time.
