Students in three choirs at Durant High School will maintain a rock-star scheduled as they celebrate the Christmas season with performances at three different theme parks.
This month, the Plant City singers will bring their talents to Universal Studios, Epcot and Busch Gardens.
“I think going to performances such as these allows the students attending to get a well-rounded choir experience,” four-year choir student Macie Jones says.
Class Act, an audition-based mixed show choir, will be performing in the Candlelight Processional at 5 p.m. Dec. 10, at Epcot. The choir will perform with other choirs from around the state and will be accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra at the American Gardens Theatre, an outdoor waterfront venue at EPCOT.
The nightly event tells the story of Christmas along with a special celebrity narrator. On Dec. 10, the narrator will be Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel, from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.”
Una Voce, an all-female advanced choir that performs college-level music, will be performing at Christmas Town on Dec. 14, at Busch Gardens. Una Voce will join Christian rockers Jars of Clay in a finale.
The Chamber Choir, a group of 38 singers, will perform Dec. 7, at Universal Studios. The choir will be singing in a competition and be judged on their performance.
