County officials are investigating an early-morning fire that destroyed a Plant City home.
According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue reports, at 4:50 a.m. April 8, units responded to a house fire at 7307 W. Knights Griffin Road, Plant City. Upon arrival, crews found a wood frame home fully engulfed in flames that had collapsed to the ground. Fire rescue rapidly deployed their hose lines and started to extinguish the flames.
There was an initial report that someone was possibly living at this home. After the crews put out the fire, they did a complete search and determined the house was vacant.
The cause is under investigation. There are no reports of injuries to fire rescue crews or civilians.
