The award will be presented in March.
Ed Verner, president of the Plant City Photo Archives and History Center, announced Friday, Feb. 12, that the Florida Strawberry Festival Association will receive the annual Heritage Award, the organization's top honor.
The award will be presented at the Photo Archives annual soiree on Thursday, March 31.
Verner said the selection committee reached a unanimous decision in support of the Florida Strawberry Festival Association for the enduring and significant role it has played in Plant City for over 85 years.
Founded in 1930, the Florida Strawberry Festival Association has grown over the years and represents Plant City through the annual Florida Strawberry Festival each year. Today, the Florida Strawberry Festival is one of the biggest and most respected fairs in the nation.
This year, the annual Photo Archives banquet will be held at the Photo Archives and History Center on South Evers Street. Guests will enjoy a champagne reception and a complimentary photo corner, in addition to photo exhibits, live jazz music, a complimentary wine bar, dinner, photo trivia quiz and the annual award presentation.
The award will be presented by former recipients of the award, as well as Executive Director Gil Gott and President Ed Verner.
