As the Florida Strawberry Festival opens Feb. 27, it’s time for hungry (and adventurous) Plant Citians to dive into the array of new food offerings at this year’s festival.
While you may be eagerly awaiting your chance to get in line for the festival’s staple dishes (Amish donuts, Fiske fries, Smitty’s corndogs or strawberry shortcake), take a look at these new savory and sweet menu options sure to excite and please your palette. Bring your appetite and be willing to sample these delicious and unique taste sensations.
Local gem Sweet Missions Cafe & Bakery, located in the Softhub Spas Carriage House, is offering a whopping seven strawberry food items at this year’s festival, including: Strawberry Crunch Cake, Strawberry Crunch Dessert Cup, Sweet Strawberry Salad, Strawberry Crunch Berries, Strawberry Pecan Chicken Salad, Strawberry Crunch Waffle Chips and Strawberry Cookie Dippers.

Deep Fried Strawberry Shortcake
A new creation offered by KD Concessions, this decadent delight is a strawberries and cream cake roll dipped in funnel cake batter and friend to golden perfection, then topped with powdered sugar, cream cheese frosting and strawberry crunch topping.
Pizza Cubano
Spaghetti Eddie’s (located outside of the Stingray Chevrolet Entertainment Pavilion) is serving up this Italian twist on the famous Cuban sandwich that features roasted Cuban pork, pickles, Mozzarella cheese, Cuban spices, homemade Parmesan ranch sauce with Cuban mustard on the side.
Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese
What’s better than traditional macaroni and cheese? Brody’s Mac and Cheese presents Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese, offering a distinctly smoky and elevated taste on everyone’s favorite side dish. Brody’s Mac and Cheese is located on Edward’s Street between the Wish Farms Soundstage and the Midway.
Corn in a Cup
Mexican street corn is addictive and delicious. Old Style Foods Concessions presents Corn in a Cup, a savory treat featuring Mexican-style street corn with Mexican crema, Parmesan cheese, Tajin and lime. Old Style Foods Concessions is in the SUN ’n FUN Aerospace Expo Kiddie Korral.
Strawberry Cannoli Funnel Cake
Can one of the best fair food staples get any better? Best Around Concessions thinks it can as they’re adding a Strawberry Cannoli Funnel Cake to their menu this year. They top their traditional funnel cake dusted with powdered sugar and top it with fresh strawberries, chocolate chip cannoli cream filling and crushed cannoli shells. Best Around Concessions is located by the Entenmann’s Strawberry Tent.
