The United Food Bank of Plant City will be giving away Christmas turkeys to needy families in the community from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, December 22, at 702 E. Alsobrook St. Suite H in Plant City.
Turkeys will be available on a first come, first-serve basis.
During the recent Thanksgiving turkey drive, the non-profit served more than 450 turkeys, a number that nearly double from last year’s distribution. The food bank is expecting a similar outcome for the Christmas drive and is asking for the community’s help in order to help these families this holiday season.
“We hit record numbers this year during our Thanksgiving turkey drive,” said Christine Miller, director of Food Bank. “Without the help of our local community we would not have been able to serve these families.”
The food bank is now accepting turkeys and non-perishable food donations at its facility. If you would like to make a donation or learn more about our organization please contact Miller at (813) 764-0625. Visit ufbpc.org to learn more about volunteer opportunities and online giving.
