Hillsborough County Commissioner Al Higginbotham spoke at the Plant City Optimist Club meeting Monday, Aug. 17. He gave the club a brief summary of the upcoming county budget for fiscal year 2015-16 as well as information concerning a proposed one half-cent or one-cent sales tax increase for transportation issues county-wide, which is planned to be on the ballot in November 2016. Higgibotham answered several questions from the group, including how the county has responded to various issues created by the recent heavy rains.
